A lot of people think the bigger the audience the better, but growing a big audience is not for everyone, and it’s not even needed by everyone.

If you want to grow a massive audience, here are 10 reasons why starting a movement is a great marketing strategy.
1. Starting A Movement Helps You Build A Big Audience Very Quickly
If you have a desire to grow a big audience, there is a reason you have that desire.
You want to help as many people as you possibly can and change the world.
When you have that kind of passion to help people, your energy will come across in your marketing and people will want to get involved with your brand.
Creating a movement is the ultimate way to help as many people as you can, and the reason is because you are helping people get results before they’ve paid you a penny.
When people can get results for free without investing money, they’ll jump at the chance to be part of your movement.
If the only message you share is about your paid product, you are halting your audience growth because you are putting a barrier up to the majority of people that come across your brand.
Most of your audience won’t buy so they won’t get any results from interactions with your brand and won’t engage with your marketing messages.
However, when you help people get results for free, you open up your brand to your entire sub-section of people and there is nothing stopping people becoming a follower of yours.
If you give people a free sample of your work, they’re much more likely to try before they buy.
And if that sample of work creates a movement, your growth will be exponential.
2. A Movement Is Likely To Go Viral
A movement is created when you get a group of people to take action.
The best actions you can ask people to take are actions that will give them obvious results.
For example, you could ask people to drink celery juice every day for a week and notice their energy soar as a result.
Another example is you could ask people to meditate for 5 minutes each day and notice how calm they feel as a result.
You could ask people to engage with 5 professionals each day and notice how many more clients they sign up as a result.
Helping people get results for free is exciting for people because they know that they can easily share it with other people.
When someone buys a product and gets results they might share that product with someone else but they would be more hesitant to come on too strong because their friend has to fork out money to buy the product, and part of them doesn’t want to be responsible for losing their friends money if their friends don’t get the same results that they’ve got.
However, if someone gets results before they’ve had to pay a penny, they are going to shout very loudly about this free offering at the top of their lungs. They are going to share it with more people, more frequently, and with more intensity and passion, because they know that people don’t have anything to lose and have everything to gain.
That’s why free movements go viral so easily because other people share them with their entire network.
For movements to be truly popular and be widely shared, you need to capture the hearts of your audience, and helping them get what they desire for free is the best way to do that.
3. Your Audience Will Be Very Engaged
It will be obvious to your audience that you have made their desires a priority when you start to create a movement.
Creating a movement also attracts a very engaged audience for several reasons.
People who are natural action-takers are attracted to movements. Action-takers engage more, so you are naturally attracting the types of people you want into your business.
Movements create social buzz and community spirit, and with that people will start to engage with each other.

So don’t feel like you have to be doing live streams every day to start a movement – if you prefer to write you can create a movement just by writing.
I didn’t create any video or audio for my first brand in the first 5 years and built a massive audience just by writing blog posts and emails.
It also doesn’t matter if you’re an introvert or an extrovert, if you have a desire to reach millions you can do just that.
I am an introvert and still had a strong desire to help as many people as I possibly could.
5. Your Audience Is Much More Likely To Want To Become Customers
It is much easier to convert people from a member of a movement to a paying customer because your audience are already using a part of your product.
The habit that they are already executing is a necessary part of your paid product.
Because they are already taking action and getting results, they will naturally want to deepen their understanding and work towards a bigger transformation by using your paid product.
You might wonder why someone would want to pay for results if they are already getting results for free?
It is because they are getting small results, but not a massive transformation. Your product will help them get the big transformation they are looking for.
Your product can fill in the gaps in their knowledge that they are missing and will give them the structure and support they need to take their results to another level.
6. Your Audience Will Be Very Loyal
When you help people get results for free without making them jump through any hoops they will be fans of yours for life.
These fans will be true fans who will tend to buy everything you offer for sale, consume all of your content and share it with everyone they come across.
There is a well known phenomenon that if you can attract 1000 true fans who are so loyal to you and your business, your business will always do well.
7. This Business Model Is Very Profitable
When you set up a movement, you can get a lot of traffic for your brand for free. As your content will get shared on any platform, you’ll get a lot of traffic from social media, and your long form content will get a lot of shares.
You will also get a lot of direct traffic that comes from word of mouth where people type in the url of your website directly because they’ve heard about you from someone else or they are an existing customer who has remembered about you and wants to find your content again.
During my first year of business I received over 300,000 visits from people directly typing in the name of my URL into their browser. By year 4 of my business the number of direct visits my website received was almost at 1 million.
Because people were just finding my brand organically and coming back to my content time and time again I didn’t have to pay a single penny towards paid advertising.
When you get such a high amount of free traffic to your business, and you sell digital products, your business is extremely profitable.
I had a small amount of fixed costs that I had to pay every month for online tools but after those expenses were paid, everything I made was pure profit.
In my opinion organic marketing coupled with selling digital products is the best business model out there.
Most businesses have to pay to acquire each customer, and it is very tricky to make this work because often people spend more on advertising than they make. So if you can avoid that you are on to a winner.
8. A Movement Naturally Generates A Lot Of Social Proof
A movement creates a lot of social proof which means that people are sharing their results publicly for others to read.
You can also take these testimonials and share them everywhere to create even more social proof.
Other forms of social proof are the number of followers you get, and the number of comments you get on your posts.
People need to see some kind of social proof before they can trust you enough to buy from you, and when you create a movement, you get social proof in spades.
When I first started my blog, I wasn’t really on social media, but there would be hundreds of comments on my blog posts. People would read the other comments there and they would see that other people were getting results from the transformational habits that I would encourage them to start.

One of the little-known benefits of starting a movement is that it’s really fun to be the founder of such a popular movement.
It gives you such a great feeling of fulfillment to see that you are actually making a difference in the world and helping so many people.
