How I Manifested My Dream Home On The Waterfront: 10 Step Manifestation Process
Today, I’m going to take you through my 10 step manifestation process and show you exactly how I manifested my dream house on the waterfront with water views.
Now, my first step in the manifestation process is peace.
And that means to do something every single day that makes you feel peaceful because if you don’t stop, reflect and have some quiet time, you can’t listen to your intuition and manifest whatever it is that you want.
So when I was in our last house and the house before that, I have always had a morning routine where I have sat down and had a period of a minimum of one minute where I just sit down in silence and I just listen. And I just ask, what do you want me to do today?
FREE MANIFESTATION BOARD PACK
From this one pack (valued at $29), you can create both a vision board, and an achievement board to help you feel good about what you've already achieved, and manifest even more.
Your results improve when you track them, and when you intend them. This pack helps you do both.
I’ve also had a period in every day where I’ve done something that makes me feel peaceful, like just sitting and reading, or just sitting somewhere beautiful and looking at the view.
So that is the first step in the manifestation process.
The second step in the manifestation process is to decide exactly what you want.
And because I was moving into this house with my husband, we both had to get on the same page and decide exactly what we want.
A lot of people ask how long did this entire process take?
That really depends because if I look back about seven years ago, that is the time when I really started to seriously desire a house with a view of the water that was right on the coast. That was the first time in my life, where I was doing serious personal development work.
I really saw a vision of exactly what I wanted. And I did communicate that to my husband at the time. and he said that he also would really desire to have a beach house on the coast with water views.
So that was about seven years ago when the idea first popped into my head. But if you asked how long the process took from the time when we actually started taking action, it was about one year. So it just depends on the timescale that you’re talking about when you ask how long it takes.
Both my husband and I did know, and we did decide that this is what we wanted.
At that time we actually had two house moves in between the first house that we lived in. And then we moved to a bigger house in Scotland, a house double the size of our previous one.
And we did manifest a lot of things that we wanted when we moved to our second house. It was really nice peaceful house, surrounded by trees and it was in a really safe, nice area. But we didn’t have any really nice views. I really desired to have beautiful views out of my window, especially views of the sea. It’s what I really wanted.
We lived in that house for about five years, and then my husband got a job in a different country, in Wales, still a part of the UK. And it was a massive desire of mine to move to a warmer climate, and to be near to family. And this is something that I had manifested.
There were lots of parts of this process. It wasn’t just about the dream house.
It was everything coming together, which was a complete manifestation of things that I had wanted for a very long time. It was a big, long process.
So when my husband got the job, we decided to move to Wales. We put our house in Scotland for sale and selling the house involved a lot of hard work.. There were lots of cleaning, making it look like a show home and also daily viewings. There was a lot of action taking place for the sale.
I didn’t just sit and visualize exactly what I wanted. There was actually a lot of action and hard work in this process to get our dream house.
And finally, we ended up moving from Scotland down to Wales.
But we didn’t move straight into our current house, instead we moved into a rental first. Mostly, because didn’t know what the areas were like and also we didn’t really know what we wanted at that time. And it was just going to be too difficult to buy the house that we wanted without having really seen it.
But, before we moved into that rental house, and while we were living in that rental house, we did decide exactly what we wanted.
We both decided that we wanted to live on the coast next to a beach!
So that was step two – the decision-making process.
Step three in the manifestation process was to intend – intend that we were actually going to get it.
And there’s a few different methods that people use to intend their dream houses.
One method is using vision boards. A lot of people use vision boards to get clear on exactly what they want the house to look like, but I’ve never really been a massive fan of vision boards before. I don’t know why I’m just not that kind of person. I’m more into the way that I feel and not into specific looks.
But I did do a little bit of vision boarding myself . I went on to Pinterest and saved some pictures of houses that I really liked on the coast. In fact, I saved a lot of pictures of really big, nice kitchens.
That is a just a little bit of what I did, but mainly what I did was create lists. I’m a list person. I like to write. I like to use words. That’s how I manifest, using words. I created many lists by myself and I also created some with my family.
And another thing I did was create a spider diagram.
This is where you write, the word that you want to manifest in middle, for example, like in my case, dream house. And then you have lines going off the circle linking to something else that you want about the main topic.
And there was lots of things that we all wanted. Some of those things were:
- To live in a safe area
- Live next to a beach, on the coast
- Have beautiful sea views out of our window
- A terrace out at the front of our house so we could sit and look over the sea
- Have four bedrooms in the house
- A tall house so that we also had beautiful views from the top story of the house
- A very safe place with lots of space for the kids to play, whether that was a garden or a place outside, we wanted it to be safe so that the kids could enjoy playing, without the worry of vehicles etc.
There were so many things that we wanted.
And for me, one of the things that I truly wanted was a really big kitchen with an island.
I’d never had a big kitchen in my whole life. And this was something that was important to me because prepare a lot of my food from scratch. I make all my own food because my two kids and I have a lot of food allergies and I’m also really into eating healthy food. In the past, I often had very small, cramped kitchen spaces, without much room to put plates out, do any chopping, have any fruits laid out and my kitchen appliances like the blender, food processor or juicer etc.
So you can understand now, why a big kitchen was vital for me and why it was my biggest criteria for my dream house.
Another thing that I wanted was the inside of the house to be light and airy and very natural.
I’m really into to natural things and materials like wood or stone. I am such a massive fan of the natural beauty of the outside world and I like to bring that into the indoor space as well. So I’m not into bling or massive amounts of luxury, but just minimalism and very natural.
So that is a briefing of what our requirements were – everything that we intended.
The fourth step of the process is clarity.
This means getting very, very clear on what you want and bringing it to life.
And the main way that I did this was through an exercise that I call my Perfect Groundhog Day.
And I actually developed this exercise before COVID and it’s quite ironic because a lot of people ended up living Groundhog day over and over again, especially here in the UK where we’ve had locked down and people have been living the same day over and over again from their home.
But interestingly enough, my perfect Groundhog day included a lot of being at home. And I actually ended up manifesting my perfect day while in lockdown. So I didn’t mind too much.
Basically what it is, is using a technique called scripting and you script exactly what you want your perfect day to look like and feel like as if it’s already happened in the future and you’re looking back at it.
For example, my perfect day might start off like this, I woke up in the morning and I walked out onto my terrace and looked at the beautiful views outside and felt so grateful that I get to have this amazing view watching the sunrise over the water.
That is scripting the perfect Groundhog day.
I had created a couple of different versions of these. One of them included being in a sunny climate, another included having beautiful waterfront views, another included my having extended family near and it all ended up manifesting. That was very, very exciting that it all eventually happened.
So that was how I got clear and manifested exactly what I wanted by bringing feeling into the visualization process, and by using words like “I’m so grateful”.
The perfect Groundhog day is something that I teach in my dream business framework. So watch out for that.
The fifth step in the process is to believe that you’ve actually got what you wanted.
You can do this through a process of visualization and just imagining that you’re already there.
I would imagine myself going out onto my terrace and just absorbing the sun’s rays and looking at the beautiful view.
That was how I believed that it was actually going to come true. I did this quite frequently, at least once a week.
The sixth step in the process is to detach.
This means to lose all attachments to the way it has to be.
And the way in which we did this was, we first decided on a town that we wanted to move to. It should be very close to my husband’s job, which was one of our other requirements. And along with that, the other requirements were to be within driving distance to a city, but not right in the city just on the outskirts and, again, somewhere beautiful.
Then we moved to the city of Cardiff in Wales, the capital city, where my husband got the job.
We decided on an area that was very close to the city center and his job so that he could have a very short commute. We decided to move to a lovely area that was right on the coast. And it did have a beach, but it was a pebble beach. It was also an extremely expensive area.
When we were house hunting we thought that all we could afford was a tiny little house. And we weren’t sure if we were actually going to be able to fit in this house, and there would be no sea views either. But we’d probably be about a 20 minute walk away from the beach to the pebbly beach.
But anyway, we decided on this area, I did detach from the process and I knew that God or the universe would bring about the perfect place for us.
When I was trying to get my kids into schools in this area, I was told that all the schools in this area had massive, long waiting lists. And it was going to be most unlikely that our kids were going to be able to get into a school in this area.
I only found three school places available for both children, but two of them were too far away, in the middle of the countryside nowhere close to the city, while the other school was in a place that we’d actually been to before.
The last school was in a town on the coast, a little bit further away from the town that we originally set our sights on. At that time we thought, oh, it’s probably too long of a commute, maybe like a 30 minute commute away from the city. So we ruled it out previously, even though I absolutely loved it.
It was on the coast with a massive sandy beach and it was an immensely popular holiday destination. I’ve counted five beaches so far, there might be more that I haven’t discovered, but so far there’s five beaches in this town. And the school in this area that had a place for both of our children. So we thought about it and decided to move to this area.
And it all worked out perfectly because a week after we moved, COVID hit and my husband was working from home anyway. He didn’t need to commute to the office.
We then got a rental place that was just a few minutes walk from the beach. After than we were able to walk to the beach every single day. On top of that, we had wonderful sunny weather too and we had an amazing time.
So we definitely got more than what we expected by detaching from the process and getting rid of the need to know how it’s going to happen.
God or the universe has better plans for you than you’ve got for yourself.
Initially we were going to put ourselves in an area which only had a pebble beach when what we actually desired was a sandy beach. And that’s what we got in the end, including the school places for my kids.
So it all worked out absolutely perfectly.
The seventh step in the process is to trust. And just to trust that the right thing will happen at the right time.
Since we’d signed a least that was at least six months long for the rental house, we knew that we would have to stay there for at least six months. And if we couldn’t find a house within that period, we would have had to extend the least to twelve months.
So we knew that probably we’d be there for at least 12 months, but we started looking for a house to buy because we knew that the process could take a long time, a lot of houses fall through and don’t end up going through at all. So we knew that we just needed to take our time.
We fell in love with the area that we lived in, really close to the beach and eventually decided that we wanted to stay in this are.
We started looking online for houses to buy in this area but we didn’t really get a good feeling about any of them though. They ticked off many of our criteria but most didn’t have nice views, some were not near the water, or some were near the water but didn’t have any gardens, some weren’t big enough or didn’t have a garage (one of our requirements). Basically they were missing something or other from our criteria list so we had to rule out those houses.
However we trusted that the perfect house would come up at the perfect time. And sure enough, it did!
After about six months of living in our rental house, a house popped up online. Even though it didn’t really look amazing from the photos to start with, it looked like just any normal new house without much personality. However its redeeming factor was that it was right on the waterfront. So we knew that it had the beautiful views.
And we just got a really good feeling about this house. We just had this like quiet confidence that this might be the bond. So we arranged a viewing to go and see the house .
Its a three-story house and the bottom story has the kitchen, diner and office, which is one of the bedrooms downstairs. The first floor has the lounge with the water views, the master bedroom and en suite bathroom. And the third floor has two bedrooms and the family bathroom.
It had all the rooms that we needed for all of the different reasons. The kids could have a bedroom each and we had everything we wanted and specially, it was right on the waterfront, which is, which was absolutely perfect.
For our viewing appointment, we had to go to a show house (a replica of our intended house) instead since the actual house wasn’t finished at that time. We got a really good feeling about the house, since as soon as we got to the show house, we thought, wow, this is absolutely stunning.
The front of the house has a promenade where it cars aren’t allowed to drive on, a terrace, then there’s the water just out front without even a road that stands between the house and the sea. So it’s really, really close to the sea. The promenade is absolutely perfect to take a walk on and is also a safe place for the kids to play on. At the moment they’re still building each end of the promenade, but when one end is done, it’ll be opened for the people to access.
Both ends of the promenade lead to a beach, two different beaches. One of them is private and secluded and the other, one is a bigger, bustling beach that is famous with the tourists too. So we get the best of both worlds. And we just thought what a fantastic place for the kids to grow up in! Where else in the world could you get a place where you could actually just walk straight to the beach without even going on a road at all?
You couldn’t get any more perfect than that. And as for the inside of the house, the views from the first and second floors were just stunning!
And then the kitchen, which is on the ground floor, in the original plan the room was a bit like a kitchen diner and it was split into two parts. The bigger part of the room was what they called a family room, with a sofa, tv, dinning table & chairs.
And the smaller portion of the room had the tiniest kitchen I had ever seen in my whole life. And I remember just standing there, looking at that kitchen and thinking there’s not even room for two plates on that kitchen surface. How would I prepare a whole family’s meal? How would I get all my vegetables out and chop them? Where would I put my blender, my food processor, and there’s no cupboard space? Basically it didn’t have the space that I required in a kitchen.
It felt like the perfect house, and everything about it was perfect except for the kitchen. After we went home, gave it some thought and we decided that there must be a way around this, that there is a solution to every problem!
I always believe that there’s a solution to every problem. And if you want something enough, you will find a way.
I tried to find ways to compromise for the lack of space, maybe whittle down on the contents of my cupboards, do less juicing etc. Nevertheless, we decided to reserve the house anyway.
After awhile the construction crew started to put a wood-like flooring throughout the entire house, including the kitchen. And suddenly we realized that what we should do is just renovate the whole room to suite our needs. We decide to just get rid of the existing kitchen entirely and put a big kitchen extending all the way up the room instead. And to install a big island in the middle, a kitchen diner and then have a dinning table at the bottom of the kitchen.
But we had to think outside of the box a little bit, as it didn’t just come out perfectly instantly. We had to really take action and put a lot of hard work into this kitchen renovation because it was very last minute. We had only two weeks before we moved in which made the whole process very stressful. But we made it happen and the final result is just beautiful and perfect. And we’re so thankful for the result.
So the eighth step in the manifestation process is to take action.
You can’t just visualize and then expect your dream house to just pop out the other end and just fall on your lap.
It doesn’t work like that.
There’s always action involved in manifestation. You have to co-create and meet God or the universe halfway and do your piece.
We had to act. We had to put the in Scotland for sale which involved a lot of hard work, and physical and mental stress. It involved serious decision making, like where the kids would go to school, finding housing within our budget but still have what we needed etc.
We had to actually decide that we were going to do it. We had to put the money down and commit to it and take the action.
The ninth step of the manifestation process is to feel grateful. You have to be grateful for where you are currently.
When I was in Scotland, I went through a hard time where I didn’t feel grateful for what I had and I really struggled with that. And then I remembered about gratitude and learned how to be content, happy and above all grateful with what I had there.
And then when we moved to the rental house in Wales, although it wasn’t ideally what we wanted and wasn’t our dream house, I was grateful for every aspect of that rental house. I was especially grateful for the things that would be similar to our dream house, like the fact that our rental house was also a three story townhouse with some nice views from the top story, for its space and its location next to the beach and the kitchen also had everything we needed.
Gratitude is something that brings your manifestation into reality.
And even before we had the house, I was so grateful knowing that I was going to have the dream house that we both wanted.
And the final step in the manifestation process is to receive.
A lot of manifestations actually fall through at the last minute because the person doesn’t feel worthy of actually having what it is that they’ve manifested. Hence, some people block it, some people push it away and some people say, no, thank you. I’ve changed my mind.
And the same was true for us. It almost fell apart at the very last second.
What happened was we’d, we’d done everything we needed to do, renovated the kitchen, put the flooring and got everything was ready for us to move in. After that, we had to go to the house to do something called snacking, which is a process of checking all of the doors, all of the windows and other elements of the house to make sure that they were in proper working condition. And if something wasn’t working properly in the house we had to inform the developers so that they could fix it.
And during this snacking process, when we opened the downstairs vent cigarette smoke came wafting in to our house, through the vent. We realized then that the next door neighbors were smokers and they smoked outside on their terrace which unfortunately is right next door to our terrace.
My son has very severe asthma. I used to have asthma as well and was highly intolerant to cigarette smoke. Plus I’m also very much into health and I didn’t want any of our lungs polluted with secondhand cigarette smoke.
This was a massive blow to me, maybe much more so than anybody else, this was like a deal breaker. And I remember saying to my husband, I’m absolutely gutted and I just really don’t want to live here now because of the smoke. He actually felt the same way too. We’d not gone through all this to get our kids fresh clean sea air, only for them to have their airways polluted by cigarette smoke. That was just not what we signed up for and we didn’t except something like this at all.
You can’t control your neighbors, especially when you are living very close next to somebody else in a townhouse, you can’t really control what happens in the outdoor space. But living in a warm climate, we really expected to have the windows open to let in the fresh air.
We actually felt like putting the house on the market! And we got really close to selling it. We were that depressed. And we had to really think for a few days, about what we were going to do?
Its when that affirmation popped into my head. There is a solution to every problem.
And I was thinking, what is the solution here? And I was praying for a solution. And then an idea came to me and the idea was to put air conditioning on every floor of the house so that when it gets really hot, we don’t have to open our windows. We can just have the air conditioning going.
I know in countries like America, it’s very common in a lot of areas, but because in the UK, the weather is quite changeable and you don’t always get very hot periods throughout the year. So it’s not really worth going out of your way and installing air conditioning into your house. So most houses don’t have it, but down here in, in Wales, since it is quite southern we get much better weather and it’s much hotter than it was up in Scotland.
It really seemed worth our while to get air conditioning installed because I used to have a portable air conditioner and I’d used it in our rental non-stop for about 10 months of the year. So it did seem worth our while to make the investment on air conditioning.
And one of the best things about having air conditioning is that it makes the house feel so comfortable.
So that was what we needed to do to receive the house.
And yeah, it was very stressful getting into the house, but finally we got in and we had lots of work to do to get the house into a livable state. We’ve still got lots of projects that need to be done around the house, but it is in a much better state than before. I am so happy with this house, its just fantastic.
It has all the little things as well that make it look serious. Like the fact that , my water filter is part of my tap so I don’t have to constantly fill up the water filter constantly. And, I’ve got a bed that declines and inclines automatically with the press of a button.
And every morning I wake up, I just take the few steps from my bedroom into my lounge where there is a really low picture window. And I sit inside the window ledge and I can see the sun rising over the water. And it’s just the most splendid sight in the world. And it makes me feel so grateful.
Yes, we’ve had challenges. We’ve had ups and downs. But that’s just life! That is the balance of life.
With extreme ups also come extreme downs.
And despite the stress, emotionally and physically and the hard work, I’m so glad that we did it. The result is worth everything!
And I’m so happy to finally be living in our dream house.
